סוד הניצוצות והחירות
א. « Armées de Hachem » — Une formulation étrange
Après la plaie des premiers-nés, la Torah déclare :
« בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם »
« En ce jour même, toutes les armées de Hachem sortirent du pays d'Égypte »
Question : Pourquoi « צִבְאוֹת ה׳ » (les armées de Hachem) et non pas simplement « בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל » (les enfants d'Israël) ?
Ce terme militaire cache-t-il un secret profond ?
ב. Le but ultime : Recevoir la Torah
Hachem avait dit à Moché au buisson ardent :
« תַּעַבְדוּן אֶת הָאֱלֹקִים עַל הָהָר הַזֶּה »
« Vous servirez Dieu sur cette montagne »
Remarque : Le mot est « תַּעַבְדוּן » avec un Noun final, pas « תַּעַבְדוּ » !
Ce Noun (נ = 50) fait allusion aux 50 jours entre la sortie d'Égypte et le don de la Torah au Sinaï.
Conclusion : Toute la finalité de la sortie d'Égypte était de recevoir la Torah au Mont Sinaï.
ג. Le secret de « Harout » — Gravure ou Trou ?
Dans les Pirké Avot (chapitre 6, michna 2), il est écrit :
« וְהַלֻּחֹת מַעֲשֵׂה אֱלֹקִים הֵמָּה, וְהַמִּכְתָּב מִכְתַּב אֱלֹקִים הוּא, חָרוּת עַל הַלֻּחֹת »
« Les Tables étaient l'œuvre de Dieu, et l'écriture était l'écriture de Dieu, harout sur les Tables »
Question : Que signifie « חָרוּת » ?
On pense habituellement que c'est « gravure » (חֲרִיטָה). Mais attention : gravure s'écrit avec un ט (Tet), alors que חָרוּת s'écrit avec un ת (Tav) !
Révélation : חָרוּת ne vient pas de « gravure » mais de חוֹר (trou) !
Les lettres sur les Tables n'étaient pas gravées en surface — elles étaient percées de part en part, lisibles des deux côtés !
La Michna continue :
« אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה »
« Ne lis pas 'harout' (percé) mais 'hérout' (liberté), car il n'y a d'homme libre que celui qui s'adonne à l'étude de la Torah »
Mais quel est le lien entre les trous (חוֹר), la liberté (חֵרוּת), et les « fils de libres » (בְּנֵי חוֹרִין) ?
ד. L'origine de l'exil : Le péché d'Adam
Pour comprendre, il faut remonter au péché originel.
Le Arizal et le Ohr Ha'Haïm Hakadoch enseignent :
Lorsque Adam a péché, toutes les étincelles de sainteté (ניצוצות הקדושה) se sont dispersées de lui et se sont répandues dans le monde entier.
Où sont allées la plupart de ces étincelles ?
En Égypte ! Car elle était « עֶרְוַת הָאָרֶץ » — la partie la plus basse de la terre. Par sa force d'impureté, elle a aspiré la majorité des étincelles vers elle.
La mission : Pour réparer le péché d'Adam et rectifier le monde, il fallait envoyer une unité commando d'élite en Égypte pour extraire ces étincelles et les élever.
ה. L'unité commando : De Avraham aux 70 âmes
Cette « unité spéciale » a été construite progressivement :
Avraham engendre Yitzhak et Yichmaël → Yichmaël est écarté (« déchet »)
Yitzhak engendre Yaakov et Essav → Essav est écarté (« déchet »)
Yaakov engendre 12 fils → Tous sont purs, « sa couche était complète » (מיטתו שלמה)
De ces 12 tribus descendent les 70 âmes
qui descendent en Égypte pour accomplir la mission
« וַיִּפְרוּ וַיִּשְׁרְצוּ וַיִּרְבּוּ וַיַּעַצְמוּ בִּמְאֹד מְאֹד וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ אֹתָם »
Ils se multiplièrent extraordinairement et remplirent le pays — prêts à accomplir leur mission d'extraction !
ו. « Vayénatsélou » — Ils vidèrent l'Égypte
Le verset dit :
« וַה׳ נָתַן אֶת חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם וַיַּשְׁאִלוּם, וַיְנַצְּלוּ אֶת מִצְרָיִם »
« Hachem donna grâce au peuple aux yeux des Égyptiens, et ils vidèrent l'Égypte »
Question : « וַיְנַצְּלוּ » signifie-t-il « ils dépouillèrent » ? Mais Rachi et Onkelos traduisent : « רוֹקְנוּ » — ils vidèrent !
Le Midrach explique :
« עֲשָׂאוּהָ כִּמְצוּלָה שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ דָּגִים »
« Ils la rendirent comme un filet sans poissons »
מְצוּלָה = filet de pêche. Quand un filet ne retient pas les poissons, c'est qu'il a des trous !
Imaginez le sol d'Égypte comme un tapis persan incrusté de diamants (les étincelles). Quand on extrait les diamants, que reste-t-il ? Des trous !
ז. « Bené Horin » — Les faiseurs de trous
Révélation extraordinaire :
« בְּנֵי חוֹרִין » ne signifie pas seulement « fils de libres » au sens classique.
Ce sont littéralement ceux qui font des trous (חוֹרִים) !
Comment ont-ils fait ces trous ? En vidant (רוֹקְנוּ) l'Égypte de ses étincelles de sainteté !
Voilà pourquoi la Torah dit :
« יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳ » — Les armées de Hachem
Ce ne sont pas seulement les « enfants d'Israël » qui sont sortis, mais aussi les étincelles de sainteté qu'ils ont extraites !
Ces étincelles sont les véritables « armées de Hachem » !
ח. L'étude de la Torah : Faire des trous dans la réalité
Maintenant nous comprenons la Michna :
« אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה »
Celui qui étudie la Torah accomplit exactement la même action que nos ancêtres en Égypte :
Il extrait les étincelles de sainteté de la réalité matérielle !
Il « fait des trous » dans le monde pour en faire sortir la lumière cachée !
C'est pourquoi il est appelé בֶּן חוֹרִין — celui qui fait des trous, celui qui libère les étincelles emprisonnées.
Et c'est la véritable liberté (חֵרוּת) !
ט. Les trous dans la Matsa : Un rappel éternel
Certains enseignent que c'est l'une des raisons pour lesquelles la Matsa a des trous :
Pour nous rappeler que nous avons « troué » le sol d'Égypte en en extrayant toutes les étincelles de sainteté !
Chaque Pessa'h, en mangeant la Matsa, nous nous rappelons notre mission : être des « Bené Horin » — ceux qui percent la matérialité pour en libérer la lumière divine.

א. "Armies of Hashem" — A Strange Expression
After the plague of the firstborn, the Torah states:
"בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם"
"On this very day, all the armies of Hashem left the land of Egypt"
Question: Why "צִבְאוֹת ה׳" (armies of Hashem) and not simply "בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל" (children of Israel)?
Does this military term hide a deep secret?
ב. The Ultimate Goal: Receiving the Torah
Hashem had told Moshe at the burning bush:
"תַּעַבְדוּן אֶת הָאֱלֹקִים עַל הָהָר הַזֶּה"
"You shall serve God on this mountain"
Note: The word is "תַּעַבְדוּן" with a final Noun, not "תַּעַבְדוּ"!
This Noun (נ = 50) alludes to the 50 days between the Exodus and the giving of the Torah at Sinai.
Conclusion: The entire purpose of the Exodus was to receive the Torah at Mount Sinai.
ג. The Secret of "Harout" — Engraving or Hole?
In Pirkei Avot (chapter 6, mishna 2), it is written:
"וְהַלֻּחֹת מַעֲשֵׂה אֱלֹקִים הֵמָּה, וְהַמִּכְתָּב מִכְתַּב אֱלֹקִים הוּא, חָרוּת עַל הַלֻּחֹת"
"The Tablets were God's handiwork, and the writing was God's writing, harout on the Tablets"
Question: What does "חָרוּת" mean?
We usually think it means "engraving" (חֲרִיטָה). But note: engraving is spelled with a ט (Tet), while חָרוּת is spelled with a ת (Tav)!
Revelation: חָרוּת doesn't come from "engraving" but from חוֹר (hole)!
The letters on the Tablets weren't engraved on the surface — they were pierced through and through, readable from both sides!
The Mishna continues:
"אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה"
"Don't read 'harout' (pierced) but 'herut' (freedom), for there is no free person except one who engages in Torah study"
But what is the connection between holes (חוֹר), freedom (חֵרוּת), and "children of the free" (בְּנֵי חוֹרִין)?
ד. The Origin of Exile: Adam's Sin
To understand, we must go back to the original sin.
The Arizal and the Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh teach:
When Adam sinned, all the sparks of holiness (ניצוצות הקדושה) dispersed from him and spread throughout the world.
Where did most of these sparks go?
To Egypt! For it was "עֶרְוַת הָאָרֶץ" — the lowest part of the earth. Through its power of impurity, it drew the majority of sparks to itself.
The mission: To repair Adam's sin and rectify the world, an elite commando unit had to be sent to Egypt to extract these sparks and elevate them.
ה. The Commando Unit: From Avraham to the 70 Souls
This "special unit" was built progressively:
Avraham begets Yitzchak and Yishmael → Yishmael is removed ("waste")
Yitzchak begets Yaakov and Esav → Esav is removed ("waste")
Yaakov begets 12 sons → All are pure, "his bed was complete" (מיטתו שלמה)
From these 12 tribes descend the 70 souls
who descend to Egypt to accomplish the mission
"וַיִּפְרוּ וַיִּשְׁרְצוּ וַיִּרְבּוּ וַיַּעַצְמוּ בִּמְאֹד מְאֹד וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ אֹתָם"
They multiplied extraordinarily and filled the land — ready to accomplish their extraction mission!
ו. "Vayenatzelu" — They Emptied Egypt
The verse states:
"וַה׳ נָתַן אֶת חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם וַיַּשְׁאִלוּם, וַיְנַצְּלוּ אֶת מִצְרָיִם"
"Hashem gave the people favor in the eyes of Egypt, and they emptied Egypt"
Question: Does "וַיְנַצְּלוּ" mean "they plundered"? But Rashi and Onkelos translate: "רוֹקְנוּ" — they emptied!
The Midrash explains:
"עֲשָׂאוּהָ כִּמְצוּלָה שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ דָּגִים"
"They made it like a net without fish"
מְצוּלָה = fishing net. When a net doesn't retain fish, it's because it has holes!
Imagine Egypt's ground like a Persian carpet embedded with diamonds (the sparks). When you extract the diamonds, what remains? Holes!
ז. "Bené Horin" — The Hole Makers
Extraordinary revelation:
"בְּנֵי חוֹרִין" doesn't only mean "children of the free" in the classical sense.
They are literally those who make holes (חוֹרִים)!
How did they make these holes? By emptying (רוֹקְנוּ) Egypt of its sparks of holiness!
That's why the Torah says:
"יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳" — The armies of Hashem
It wasn't just the "children of Israel" who left, but also the sparks of holiness they extracted!
These sparks are the true "armies of Hashem"!
ח. Torah Study: Making Holes in Reality
Now we understand the Mishna:
"אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה"
One who studies Torah accomplishes exactly the same action as our ancestors in Egypt:
He extracts sparks of holiness from material reality!
He "makes holes" in the world to release the hidden light!
That's why he is called בֶּן חוֹרִין — one who makes holes, one who frees imprisoned sparks.
And this is true freedom (חֵרוּת)!
ט. The Holes in Matza: An Eternal Reminder
Some teach that this is one of the reasons why Matza has holes:
To remind us that we "pierced" Egypt's ground by extracting all the sparks of holiness from it!
Every Passover, when eating Matza, we remember our mission: to be "Bené Horin" — those who pierce materiality to release the divine light.

א. « צבאות ה׳ » — ניסוח מוזר
אחרי מכת בכורות, התורה אומרת:
« בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם »
שאלה: למה « צִבְאוֹת ה׳ » ולא פשוט « בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל »?
האם המונח הצבאי הזה מסתיר סוד עמוק?
ב. המטרה הסופית: לקבל תורה
הקב״ה אמר למשה בסנה:
« תַּעַבְדוּן אֶת הָאֱלֹקִים עַל הָהָר הַזֶּה »
שימו לב: כתוב « תַּעַבְדוּן » עם נו״ן סופית, לא « תַּעַבְדוּ »!
הנו״ן (נ = 50) רומזת ל50 יום בין יציאת מצרים למתן תורה בסיני.
מסקנה: כל תכלית יציאת מצרים הייתה לקבל תורה בהר סיני.
ג. הסוד של « חרות » — חריטה או חור?
בפרקי אבות (פרק ו׳, משנה ב׳) כתוב:
« וְהַלֻּחֹת מַעֲשֵׂה אֱלֹקִים הֵמָּה, וְהַמִּכְתָּב מִכְתַּב אֱלֹקִים הוּא, חָרוּת עַל הַלֻּחֹת »
שאלה: מה זה « חָרוּת »?
בדרך כלל חושבים שזה « חריטה ». אבל שימו לב: חריטה נכתבת בט״ת, ואילו חָרוּת נכתב בת״ו!
גילוי: חָרוּת לא בא מ« חריטה » אלא מחוֹר!
האותיות על הלוחות לא היו חרוטות על פני השטח — הן היו מחוררות לגמרי, קריאות משני הצדדים!
המשנה ממשיכה:
« אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה »
אבל מה הקשר בין חורים (חוֹר), חירות (חֵרוּת), ו« בני חורין » (בְּנֵי חוֹרִין)?
ד. מקור הגלות: חטא אדם הראשון
כדי להבין, צריך לחזור לחטא הקדמון.
האר״י הקדוש והאור החיים הקדוש מלמדים:
כשאדם חטא, כל ניצוצות הקדושה התפזרו ממנו והתפשטו בכל העולם.
לאן הלכו רוב הניצוצות האלה?
למצרים! כי היא הייתה « עֶרְוַת הָאָרֶץ » — החלק הנמוך ביותר של הארץ. בכוח הטומאה שלה, היא שאבה את רוב הניצוצות אליה.
המשימה: כדי לתקן את חטא אדם ולתקן את העולם, היה צריך לשלוח יחידת קומנדו מובחרת למצרים כדי להוציא את הניצוצות ולהעלות אותם.
ה. יחידת הקומנדו: מאברהם עד 70 נפש
ה« יחידה המיוחדת » הזו נבנתה בהדרגה:
אברהם מוליד את יצחק וישמעאל ← ישמעאל נפסל (« פסולת »)
יצחק מוליד את יעקב ועשו ← עשו נפסל (« פסולת »)
יעקב מוליד 12 בנים ← כולם טהורים, « מיטתו שלמה »
מ-12 השבטים האלה יורדים 70 נפש
למצרים לבצע את המשימה
« וַיִּפְרוּ וַיִּשְׁרְצוּ וַיִּרְבּוּ וַיַּעַצְמוּ בִּמְאֹד מְאֹד וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ אֹתָם »
הם התרבו בצורה יוצאת דופן ומלאו את הארץ — מוכנים לבצע את משימת החילוץ!
ו. « וינצלו » — הם רוקנו את מצרים
הפסוק אומר:
« וַה׳ נָתַן אֶת חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם וַיַּשְׁאִלוּם, וַיְנַצְּלוּ אֶת מִצְרָיִם »
שאלה: האם « וַיְנַצְּלוּ » פירושו « שדדו »? אבל רש״י ואונקלוס מתרגמים: « רוֹקְנוּ » — הם רוקנו!
המדרש מסביר:
« עֲשָׂאוּהָ כִּמְצוּלָה שֶׁאֵין בָּהּ דָּגִים »
« עשו אותה כמו רשת בלי דגים »
מְצוּלָה = רשת דיגים. כשרשת לא מחזיקה דגים, זה בגלל שיש בה חורים!
דמיינו את אדמת מצרים כמו שטיח פרסי משובץ יהלומים (הניצוצות). כשמוציאים את היהלומים, מה נשאר? חורים!
ז. « בני חורין » — עושי החורים
גילוי מדהים:
« בְּנֵי חוֹרִין » לא רק אומר « בני חופש » במובן הרגיל.
הם ממש אלה שעושים חורים (חוֹרִים)!
איך הם עשו את החורים האלה? על ידי ריקון (רוֹקְנוּ) מצרים מניצוצות הקדושה שלה!
לכן התורה אומרת:
« יָצְאוּ כָּל צִבְאוֹת ה׳ » — צבאות ה׳
לא רק « בני ישראל » יצאו, אלא גם ניצוצות הקדושה שהם חילצו!
הניצוצות האלה הם « צבאות ה׳ » האמיתיים!
ח. לימוד תורה: לעשות חורים במציאות
עכשיו אנחנו מבינים את המשנה:
« אַל תִּקְרָא חָרוּת אֶלָּא חֵרוּת, שֶׁאֵין לְךָ בֶּן חוֹרִין אֶלָּא מִי שֶׁעוֹסֵק בְּתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה »
מי שלומד תורה עושה בדיוק את אותה פעולה כמו אבותינו במצרים:
הוא מוציא ניצוצות קדושה מהמציאות הגשמית!
הוא « עושה חורים » בעולם כדי להוציא את האור הגנוז!
לכן הוא נקרא בֶּן חוֹרִין — מי שעושה חורים, מי שמשחרר ניצוצות כלואים.
וזו החירות האמיתית (חֵרוּת)!
ט. החורים במצה: תזכורת נצחית
יש אומרים שזו אחת הסיבות שלמצה יש חורים:
כדי להזכיר לנו שאנחנו « חוררנו » את אדמת מצרים כשהוצאנו ממנה את כל ניצוצות הקדושה!
בכל פסח, כשאוכלים מצה, אנחנו נזכרים במשימה שלנו: להיות « בני חורין » — אלה שמחוררים את הגשמיות כדי לשחרר את האור האלוקי.
י. סיכום: הקשרים שנתגלו
חָרוּת
לא « חריטה » אלא « חור »
הלוחות היו מחוררים לגמרי
בְּנֵי חוֹרִין
עושי החורים
אלה שמוציאים את הניצוצות
צִבְאוֹת ה׳
צבאות ה׳
= ישראל + הניצוצות שהשתחררו
